A note I would like to add regarding the "pop" to throw...There still needs to be a right-then-left order of the feet on the ground. If you pop/jump up in the air, and land with both feet on the ground, your body is not working in the correct sequence. For young catchers, I prefer teaching steps because it gets their body parts moving in the correct order, and then speeding up the tempo of the steps.

For reference related to pop times, this is what a 1.8 looks like...
