Not sure how I feel about all the masks and rally caps that are in the dugout? I saw one game this weekend where in the 1st inning the offensive teams dugout had rally caps/masks on (Mario brother hats, wigs, masks, bananas and orange peels on ears, etc). While I want players on the bench to be into the game, some of this stuff seems like it has crossed the line.

What say you?

**Just wanted to add that since more and more games are being televised nationally, the bench players are finding a way to be "relevant" when they are not the starters getting all of the attention. I just can't help thinking if Pat Summit, Sue Enquist, or John Wodden would allow the players to act this way?

It seemed odd to me. I guess younger coaches understand it more. As for the video bomb, it really took away from the interview. What next?

I thought it was funny. But like anything else, let's not go overboard with it. If every team now thinks they have to do something funny during these dugout interviews, then it will grow old fast.

With Sue, it depends if the player is on soccer scholarship or if they are on an actual softball scholarships or whether she is just on campus for 24 weeks to pitch.

Did I cross a line here? Has enough time passed? :)

It can be funny and refreshing but like practical jokes always goes to far trying to out do the other person or the last one. Then someone is offended and the blanket rule comes out.

I also wonder about other coaches - Connecticut and Tennessee basketball come to mind. How about players yucking it up behind Bobby Knight? I guess there is a time and place to relax.
