I was watching the Elite Baseball guy the other day and he was saying that you apply pressure to your instep as long as you can and then when the back hip starts to rotate, the foot inevitably comes off the ground. He was saying that you really shouldn't have any flexion in your toes until you...
seeing some progression so I think. At least with the scapula load. Still bringing her hands into her body to get the elbow slotted. On this swing she also “reloads” because her timing is a bit off but really solid contact with a nice solid “power v” at contact.
The pvc drill I think will really...
Yes thats what I was saying in the very first post.
I guess I don’t know what turning the barrel is because it looks like she is to me. Albeit since her hands don’t go back far enough her path isn’t as long in the zone.
I agree with the thought of getting her elbow “up” a little on the scapular...
I believe that is where she is getting out most often. I do think she hit the ball harder and more consistently in the Fall then ever but she also swung and missed more then I have ever seen her do as well with a fair amount of ground balls to led to outs obviously.
Changeups are definitely not her friend. She does have a somewhat forward stance at the plate in relation to the plate to attempt to "cut" the changeup off a bit but yes she struggles with "staying back". Im sure thats a combination of pitch recognition and timing.
So are you saying that her...
The higher tee(top) is mostly middle, the lower tee(bottom) is inner half.
I agree about the separation but does that mean moving her hands back further or increasing her stride?? Shes one of those kids that a creature of comfort. Shes always had a short stride.
Here's a couple videos from the...
Second yr 14u. From connection to contact I feel like it’s pretty solid. The load to connection I fell like is the issue. She always brings her hands in to her body which I feel is limiting things and I can’t figure out how to reprogram that.
Eric - How is Maddie working on this. My DD has a similar issue where the bat head is turned down if you will and were getting pop ups, foul backs, just misses, etc. For mine its also about timing. Id like for her to hit the ball out front a little more often which I think will obviously help...
I usually just put it over top of an AC vent so the air can circulate through it and then once FULLY dry condition it. You dont want to seal any moisture in.
Thanks guys. She just went back with a Rip-It. Been comfortable with those since 8u so no need to really switch it up if there isnt an overwhelming reason to.
That ball sounded like a 52/300. Maybe its the sound quality. Ours doesn't sound like that at all really.
My daughters organization is playing in the Sparkler as well. Team TFS Elite. Michael Bastian is the coach. Theres 4 kids from our VA teams there with them.
