Your pitcher needs to factor into this equation - drop ball pitcher? Superstar is going to 1st. Rise ball (or meat ball!) pitcher, she’s heading to the OF. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pitching and Catching same practice glove side injury?

While catching for an hour in practice does seem excessive (to me, at least), I agree it’s unusual to hear of pain in the non-throwing shoulder. What age is your daughter? Is she using a new, heavier glove? Has she started using heavy or plyo balls as part of a workout or warmup? Glad she...

    Daily Training Routine

Maybe I'm misunderstanding - but your daughters are in school ball and also have travel practice, and you're still looking for them to do another hour of softball a day? Or are we talking about offseason training plans?

    Hitting fly balls

If you have access to a (less-expensive)single wheel jugs machine, those can also be adjusted to shoot out fly balls. It just wouldn’t be possible to quickly alternate LF-RF like the Atec can do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hitting fly balls

They work - but wasn’t easy for me to use. Our HC was slightly more successful - it’s just not as easy as simply swinging a tennis racket. I found it easier just to use a bat, but for someone trying to learn to fungo, it may work for you.

Well that explains the disturbance in the Force I felt the other day...

    Hitting fly balls

In addition to tossing the ball high enough and far enough away from you - you’ll be able to control it easier if the contact point is around chest or shoulder height. To oversimplify it - you’re keeping your eye on the ball AND the bat at the same time.

Weighted Balls as Part of Warm-Up

define weighted? As in hard outer shell? Or plyo balls like TCB? (Total Control Balls - i.e. sand/polymer filled with a soft outer shell)

    USSSA approved drying agent

I believe it was listed in the USSSA rulebook up through 2015 versions.

    Hitting fly balls

Welcome to DFP Claire! What age group are we talking about? 8U and under - just toss them pop ups underhand. 10U - I’d still probably have around half of the pop ups be thrown, as you’d still want to focus on drop steps / first steps to the ball vs 100% “just run and catch it” kind of...

    Daughter too hard on herself...

Ask a HS/College/Pro pitcher what a "mistake" is when pitching, and 9/10 will likely answer "a pitch right down the middle". I'm sure there's other issues to correct, but changing her perspective of what a 'terrible' pitch actually is could be a good starting point.

    EXACT National Showcase Camp

A local DIII coach gave me a good recommendation for a camp - may have been Ryzer? I believe it's the ones they hold at Randolph Macon College, but will confirm and update this post.

    Fielding Drills

Wow - I remember that thread - some good stuff in there. Can’t believe it’s been four years already! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Fielding Drills

That's a really broad request, which may be why there hasn't been much in the way of a response. Assuming this is rec level? My initial feedback is to ditch the idea of players hitting off their pitcher. Unless you have a unicorn that can throw strikes 4 out of 5 pitches, this is possibly the...

    Flat footed

Set up the players in the field, or even just spaced apart indoors, stand behind a screen, and hit balls at them, but into the screen. Tell them to treat your toss as the pitchers windup or release. This lets you see how everyone is reacting and positioning themselves to be ready at contact.
