This would be the ideal solution, if it is possible. In some cases, especially with rec teams, finding a replacement coach may not be possible. So removing the coach essentially eliminates the entire team. While that may still be the right decision, it is something to consider.
Personally...
Good way to get some ball in when it's too cold otherwise. Several good comments throughout the thread. The field plays fast. Tends to be dim. The dome we played at had two fields with space in between them. Anyone sitting there to watch a game has to keep their head on a swivel because...
It's probably unrealistic for most kids to know exactly what they want to major in, but it's something they should at least consider. Getting a degree in the right field can definitely help a person's future. I am a college grad (with MBA) and it has served me very well. I have numerous...
Fortunately (or unfortunately...) for my DD, she had me to practice with any time she wanted. When she was 12 and under, the process was easy. Since I was a coach, we attended practice together. When we were not at practice she would often ask to play catch or to practice hitting. I rarely...
Our goal was a 60-65% win percentage. As a 12u team we took our lumps, winning approximately 30% of our games. Some of the losses were ugly. Most of the wins were close. As our team aged, we became more competitive and attempted to adjust our schedule accordingly. This was always a delicate...
I agree that I would not consider this a contract. It reminds me of the Little League Pledge with some other items added. Honestly, everything on the list should be understood without the need of spelling it out. But that's today's society I guess.
I agree completely. Bold above especially. DD developed into a softball first kid while many of her friends developed into soccer first kids. The result was that many of our rec softball practices only included 6 to 8 kids because the others were off playing club soccer. When she was...
All good points. My daughter was asked to join a travel ball team at 10 but refused because she didn't want to give up all those "other things". The same offer came when she was 11, and again she turned it down. Finally when she was 12, she realized that our local rec league would not provide...
Intentions may be good, but I'm not a fan of the process chosen. Rec ball is called recreation for a reason. At some point in time, those that are more interested in competitive ball will switch over to travel ball. That is the primary reason my daughter switched. She enjoyed rec ball...
Agreed. There is nothing wrong with some exaggeration, especially in drills. But it's important to understand that the action you are exaggerating is just that, an exaggeration.
While I have no interest in beating this dead horse any more than it has been over the years, I did notice the posters wording:
"Listen to Eugene talk about why ARod and other players felt like their barrel was above their hands and why their feel wasn't wrong"
That's a key point that myself...
