My idea was to get BR on. then lots of ways for them to advance and even score (PB, WP, FC, errors, sac fly, sac bunt). but if no one is on base, that easy pop up to CF can do nothing, that would be WP/PB is not even noticed in the score book, no reason for most batters to bunt, etc. not...- bmakj

differing philosphies, guess it stems back to my rec coach pitch days of batting a roster of 15. if I put all the weaker hitters at the bottom, might go 2 or 3 inning without BR, let alone runs. I absolutely hate "wasted" half innings. getting at least one BR puts a little more pressure on P...- bmakj

yes, but those great teams also have pretty good hitters 1-9, they are much less likely to repeatedly have half innings be done after the same 3 or 4 batters. that makes a difference. coaching mid level TB sometimes needs differeent strategies than high level P5 college ball.- bmakj

my first group of three would be the best at that role in the lineup. "best hitter" is a very subjective, what are you rating based on, avg, power, obp, rbi, etc. a power hitter with no so great average can still do a lotta damage if you can get people on base ahead of them. by same token...- bmakj

Daughter Uninterested in other sports at HS level
this brings to mind a idea I had, want to see what y'all think about it. . . . varsity athletes should have PE waived if they are in season, or doing offseason voluntary but organized workouts. to me, especially once you get to HS, PE is about making certain teens get some physical activity...- bmakj

if a team is entering tournaments like that, should not have 15 on the roster, more like 11 or 12 no one is served with a roster that large, unless you are expecting on a regular baiss to be missing a few girls (ie oldeer teams with SATs, prom, etc. to worry about), or have a number of P only...- bmakj
