My DD's current fielder's glove is a 3-finger All-Star. Like the "finger shift" RLA, it's designed to have two-in-the-pinky. What she found with the All-Star is that it really doesn't create the mechanical advantage that you get from the finger-shift in a standard-pattern glove. Her solution is to stuff three fingers in the outer-most finger stall to get the right hand position inside the glove.

gonna have a hard time beating this glove for this price especially since it's designed for the finger shift. If these weren't white I think we would own one.

Wow, it must be nearing new model time. Walmart has several of the LA's for what seem like good deals to me.
$63 - 13" outfield H
$84 - 12.5" finger shifted trap
$75 - 12" basket web
$78 - 1st base 13"

Sorry to jump in on this post but I just registered here and have basically the same question. My daughter is 12, has played 7 years of baseball and is starting her second year of softball on a mid level travel team. She also plays middle infield and outfield. She's currently using my old Rawlings Heart of the Hide Gold Glove model that I've had since 1986. I think it's an 11.75" but am not positive because it's so worn. The hand stall is way to big for her and it's floppy. Time to upgrade!!

I saw he post in the equipment section where the Mizuno Global Elite was mentioned for $80 but is that a baseball pattern? I'm open for anything including an A2000. We never skimped on her brother. I should add that she's on the smaller side. Thanks.....Steve

Not sure which Global Elite you saw for $80? Both of the 12" GGE models are discontinued, I think you'll have a really hard time finding a tan one (GGE11) but the black ones (GGE10) are still out there. And these are baseball gloves, great pattern and would work great for a 12 year old, small hand stall.

If you're interested in a 12" GGE, check eBay and Amazon, a good price is going to be around $129 / $139, which of course isn't $80 but that's still a great deal.

Also check out the 12" Mizuno Pro-Select series, either baseball or fastpitch. These are a step up over the Global Elites, actually these are what replaced the Global Elites.

That's the link I was talking about. Since Big Mac is on the petite side I thought a smaller hand stall and fingers would help her but maybe this would be a good option for now.
